FIVB Beach U19 World Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 13, 2022) – Four U.S. beach volleyball teams are in Dikili, Türkiye this week to compete at the FIVB U19 World Championships on Sept. 14-18.

A total of 96 teams (48 per gender) will compete on Türkiye’s Aegean coast this week. The United States is one of the 43 countries from all five continental confederations to be represented.

The competition begins Wednesday with the qualification round and continues Thursday with the main draw.

Myriah Massey/Ashley Pater will start in the girls main draw. Ayden Keeter/Tread Rosenthal will open in the boys main draw.

The qualifier teams are Sophie Kubiak/Bailey Showalter for the girls and Thomas Hurst/Caleb Blanchette for the boys.

Hurst competed at the 2021 U19 World Championships with Gage Basey.

Hurst/Blanchette will face Olivers Bulgacs/Davis Teteris of Latvia at 1:10 a.m. PT pm Wednesday. Kubiak/Showalter will play Lill Kandimaa/Liisa Põldma of Estonia in the qualifier at 2 a.m. PT.  Matches are being livestreamed on VolleyballWorld.tv.
